Beginner’s Origami Basics Series – Coming Soon

I haven’t had a huge amount of time to post to the blog recently, but I wanted to let all of you know that soon I will be kicking off a new series of posts aimed at newcomers to Origami.

The first instalment will start with an overview of the origami folds and how they are shown in diagrams, and the second part will move on to the bird base, and how you get from that to an origami bird.

After that, who knows? There’s a lot more to cover – if there’s anything you’d especially like to see, please leave a comment!

  1. Yeah, I think this would be a great idea- I’d like to have somewhere to point people to for this sort of thing.

I get a lot of search hits for people looking for random origami instructions, and a good number of emails from people asking me questions that are really more or less unrelated to my particular niche of the origami world.

it would be good to point them at something else to get that info.

Plus, it also doesn’t hurt for your info to show up in google, etc., as a starting point for some.

I put up a page a long time ago with a number of basic links- perhaps some of these might be helpful for you as a starting point?

which reminds me that I should re-post it again…

    Looking forward to your instructions!
